Influencing Behaviour Change - A Formula - 14 - 15 June 2018

Education alone is not enough to bring about long term behaviour changes and help patients with chronic conditions to be able to better self manage.

This innovative program aims to assist health practitioners to understand the psychology and neuroscience behind developing a partnership with their patients to influence behaviour change in chronic health conditions.  Delivered by a clinical psychologist, sharing her expertise in the field, this is a course not to be missed.

Drawing from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing literature, it will involve:

· Understanding the psyche’s response to both change & chronicity

· Fears that block change – how to recognise them

· Working with the psyche to get results

· How the brain creates patterns & developing neuroplasticity to allow for change

· How to translate this into safety language for our clients

· Various techniques to use in shorter interactions with clients/patients

Day 1: Influencing Behaviour Change - Theory & Practice

Day 2: Influencing Behaviour Change - Intensive Workshop/Case studies

Attend one or both days (*must have completed day 1 to do day 2)
